2022 A Year in Reflection

Reflecting on 2022

As we emerge out of the pandemic, and I reflect on the past year, I can’t help but to be grateful. I know it has been a really hard time for many people, myself included, but to be on the other side of this pandemic now and looking back, I just want to express my gratitude. I’m grateful for my life. I’m grateful for my family and friends. I’m grateful for this business. I’m grateful to YOU for being here, for supporting me, supporting my business, reading my social media posts and watching my YouTube videos. I truly could not do this without YOU.

This year as a whole had its ups and downs. My grandpa passed away in January - he was just 10 months away from turning 100 years old. It was such an honor to have known him for all of my life thus far. He was a man of honor and I will always respect him and his memory.

On the upside of the year, I was finally able to travel more than in previous years. We were able to visit with family and friends outside of California. I went to Texas, Washington, Oregon, and Nevada this year. It was definitely fun getting out and visiting those I haven’t seen in several years. It truly made my heart happy, and I’m grateful for those experiences. I believe I even learned a lot about myself through those few trips.

The older I get the more it seems that every year goes by faster and faster. So, for this year’s reflection, I’ll highlight only a few key items that came along with this year.

2022 Highlights:

  • Ended the year with 12 ongoing  retainer clients - which is 3 more clients than 2021.

  • Posted 29 YouTube Videos - 4 less than last year as my focus was building my client base.

  • 1,239 Subscribers on YouTube - 840 total Subscribers at this same time last year.

  • 304 Instagram followers

  • 211 Facebook Followers

Looking forward to 2023

I’m looking forward to being more focused on just a few goals and plans that we have as a company. When 2022 first started I did my best to avoid saying yes too often, which goes against my nature. I usually want to go the extra mile for my clients and loved ones, but I am realizing more and more that saying yes too often causes me unnecessary stress and adds to my workload.

I made it a point to only focus on my expertise, and stay in my lane, by saying no to things that are either not my expertise or don’t bring me joy. This has proven to be difficult for me because in as much as I did my very best to not overcommit, there are still things that have crept into my life that don’t bring me joy and are not my expertise. This lesson has stuck with me this year, and it is something I think about quite often.

I see a part of me that desires to do all of the things, and I’m really learning to just focus on one thing/goal/plan at a time. I think this is common for many entrepreneurs, who feel this same drive to try to accomplish a lot in a little bit of time. I believe this will be the crux of my focus for 2023, learning the value of honing in and focusing on one thing at a time. We do have some really fun ideas up our sleeves and we can’t wait to share it with all of you. Here’s to a prosperous new year, new hope, and new possibilities.
